The research team promotes the highest standards of quality in research with the aim to enhance the public debate through independent research based contributions to the major issues of our time, local, national and international. Counter Foto aims to combine academic research findings with different form of artistic representations. It presents today’s concerns and what-needs-to-be-done questions accessible for audiences of all ages, gender, and educational backgrounds.

Moshahida Sultana

Assistant Professor of Economics at the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She studied Economics at Northeastern University, Boston and International Development and Regional Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Her research interests are Political Economy, Environmental and Resource Economics, and Development Economics. Her recent publications include an article on the Crisis of Sugarcane Cultivation and State Owned Sugar Mills of Bangladesh published in a Bangla Journal, Sarbojonkotha, February 2016 issue. A chapter in the book titled Climate Change Adaptation Action in Bangladesh published by Springer in 2013 and a chapter on Power and Energy: Potentials, Crisis, and Planning in the book titled Handbook of Contemporary Bangladesh, to be published by Routledge in 2016. Moshahida regularly writes op-ed in Bangladeshi daily newspapers, online news media, and international news media. She also got her op-ed published in The New York Times. Moshahida has published her first Bangla novel titled “Lobonpani” in 2014. Besides she published travelogues and short stories in various Bangla literature magazines. She is the publisher of the Bengali journal ‘Sarbojonkotha’.

Arifuzzaman Tuhin

Did Masters in History from Dhaka University.
Since 2009 has been working at Kaler Kontho newspaper as a senior correspondent.
Specialized in research and writings on the issues like human rights, democracy, economics, development, environment, fuel and electricity.
